Radiology is a branch of medicine that images patients with the intent of finding the diagnosis of a disease rather than treating them. Radiation therapy is a branch of Medicine that deals with treating Cancer and other diseases.
However, it’s not just cancer that can be treated with radiation therapy.
It has been effectively used to treat other brain and spine diseases like Arteriovenous malformations(An abnormal set of connections between arteries and veins usually occurring in the brain and spine) and Trigeminal neuralgia (A nerve disorder that causes a stabbing or electric-shock-like pain in parts of the face.)
It can also be used in treating Acoustic Neuroma ( A non-cancerous tumor in the inner ear)
