Water won’t actually be able to put out the Sun. Water puts out fires here on Earth because it stops the fire from consuming oxygen, which it needs to burn, but the Sun burns due to nuclear reactions in its core, which don’t need oxygen (there’s none in space)! There’s a really good YouTube video explaining this in more detail here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GOPAxEBDro
