What reaction are you looking at? It can do so so many different things, it is impossible to say what its 1 role is!

In the body there are lots of different enzymes for different functions. Generally speaking they are involved in metabolising food and nutrients, producing hormones and messenger molecules, regulating your water excretion and blood pressure and many more. Enzymes are often like scissors specialised in specific chemical bonds. When they cut those, new products come out from an original nutrient that your body can make use of or a precursor molecule gets activated.
