• Question: If you had the chance to carry out your research in space, would you?

      I would love to go to space but unfortunately I’ve never been, and I don’t think I’ll get the chance! My work is not the kind of thing that requires a space-based laboratory, which is what the International Space Station is. Only very few people get the opportunity to become astronauts, and you have to be a special type of person- strong, calm, logical, physically fit, mentally stable… it’s tough!

      One thing I can definitely do though is experience weightlessness. You go on a special flight which climbs high into the atmosphere and then falls for a while- when you and the plane are falling, you are feel weightless. It’s about £5k to do though so I’ll need to save up…!
