      Pluto is definitely a part of the Solar System, it’s just not a planet! The Solar System comprises of everything that orbits the Sun- whether these are planets, comets, asteroids, or dwarf planets, like Pluto. Pluto was demoted to a dwarf planet in 2006 following the realisation that there’s actually a bunch of things in the outer Solar System that also look like Pluto- so if Pluto was a planet, all of these objects would have to be planets too, and it would get a bit crazy.
