  Yes of course. NO doubt about that. If I find the material hard or not very interesting, I find it hard to remember.
  For me chemistry was like that . I had to work really hard to remember things in chemistry at school. and yet I took organic chemistry in university and I was terrible at it. But I did it to challenge myself.
  I do not regret it . I think remembering or forgetting things is very normal. In that case, the solution that worked for me is practice, I practiced really hard . I keep flash cards and read them on the bus /train/ bathroom /before bed etc . It really works for me even now .
